Dishwasher

Our lovely Besotted Cottage was built in 1983. My parents could have given it to me for my first birthday. I'm sure I asked for a house, but they probably purposely ignored me, assuming I'd get bored with it. Be that as it may, the point is, the house is old. I'm not. But it is.
As old as it is, I think the dishwasher's even older. It's like the guy who built it ran out of money and bought his grandfather's appliances.
Let's take a closer look: Do you like the helpful reminder to watch what you eat?--CALORIC. Right there in front. Every time you wash a dish. But by then it's too late. They should put it on the fridge.

Or how about the missing stoppers on the drawers? Or the rusty tines. Or the soap dispenser that doesn't dispense? Or here's one: the fact that it doesn't clean anything.

But the happy day has come at last, and we are now the proud owners of a new dishwasher. One that's sleek and stainless and that washes dishes! As I type, I'm listening to it cheerfully swish. Hooray! And hooray for the husband that put things in it and switched it on!

  1. Hooray! I always love coming by your blog, Katie. Is it too late to beg you not to move? Better yet, just move closer to us.
