I spray painted a light fixture. It seemed wrong, somehow. Either sacrilegious, or cheating, or extremely uncouth. But I'm trying to get a clean, bright look (for cheap) into a bathroom without a window. It seemed like a good idea to paint the dark, bronzey pendant. But now...I don't know. I'm not sure paint was enough. I can't decide if this project actually accomplished anything, but here are the pics anyhow. During and After:
You painted it while it was hanging? That's pretty daring!!!
ReplyDeleteI've painted lights and stuff and they usually turn out okay. The good thing is if you don't like it, you can paint it a different color or tone (semi-gloss, flat, etc).
I like it better white, for what it's worth. Much more updated look.
ReplyDeleteThe sheer volume of your projects amazes me. I take it your kids are good at entertaining themselves?
Oh, I forgot my original point.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE SPRAY PAINT! I recently did a mirror (well, the frame - you get my drift)a friend gave me and it looks awesome. Then I was so thrilled I painted a daybed frame. The bed frame was one of those standard issue white and brass tubing frames and I zapped it black and the mirror was a hideous and scratched medium wood tone and I blasted that black as well. They both look ever so much better now. One was flat paint (the frame) and one was a "factory-like" lustre finish. I sprung the extra 3 bucks for the trigger thingie and it kept my finger from going numb (I learned that lesson from spray painting the mailbox). Richy joked that had I not run out of paint I would have painted everything we own. He may have been right on that one. It's such a quickly gratifying project.
